The Sales Funnel For Effective Online Marketing

Apr 26

Since the beginning of time sales funnels have always been a part of traditional marketing and business. Recently, it appears to me that the subject of funnels being used in Internet business is appearing everywhere on the web.

The truth of the matter is that people want to know more about this marketing concept and how they can use it in their business online marketing strategies. Read on to learn more about how to use the sales funnel in Internet marketing.

The Sales Funnel: What exactly is it?

A marketing funnel isn't an actual funnel. For this marketing concept, "funnel", is used to describe and visualize the entire process of selling. The funnel is a clear comparison because it allows potential customers to "Unqualified prospects" at the top, and narrower chances for conversions to sales at the bottom.

The people that are "unqualified prospects" are at the upper end of the funnel. This is those who have not spoken to you but may be interested in your product or services. By the end of this funnel, several offers and sales actions after, you've received people who have purchased the product or service you offer and made purchases as well.

The effectiveness of a lead generation funnel comes down to the fact that it permits you to monitor the potential prospects' actions throughout the lengthy sales process. It is possible to predict the potential number of customers through the sales funnel by knowing the numbers of prospects who are qualified throughout the process.

It is possible to use a sales funnel to determine the areas and ways in which your sales procedure is succeeding or failing, and whether you're not attracting enough customers. This information helps you choose the best place to focus your efforts to ensure that sales are on the right level and to meet the marketing objectives. It is used to monitor and manage customers' sales processes.

The Front - End or the Sales Funnel The top

The top part of your sales funnel should undergo the most constant testing and will be the most active. Your imagination and resources will limit the number of front-end strategies you can create.

The front-end objective is to attract new customers and convert them to buyers.

The potential customer is "qualified" when they sign up or sign up for something you offer. This is when the prospect or "Unqualified Lead" is qualified. It's because they took an action that indicates that they may be interested in buying your products or services.

Your front-end should be able to drive specific traffic to your website or blog. Article marketing, PPC ads, social media (Google+ Twitter, Facebook, YouTube), banners and blogging are the best ways and tools to accomplish this.

There are many ways to "qualify" an "unqualified potential customer. A squeeze page is one of the most effective methods to "qualify" the prospects who are not qualified. It allows you to provide something valuable, related to your product or service, which people can receive at no cost or at a significantly discounted cost by requesting their email address. You can select from reports and newsletters, as well as video and e-mail courses.

So we see that the front-end of your sales funnel is the place where people are drawn into your sale funnel. What do you think of the back-end?

The Back-End or Bottom of The Funnel

The back-end or bottom of the sales funnel is where main sales and profits are made. It is where you will typically find higher-priced products in this area. They are generally relevant to the same niche however they are presented in different formats such as video, audio, live interaction or private consultation.

The major difference between the front and back-ends lies in the type of client and the price of the product/service being provided.

It's true that only a small percent, say 1-2% of the total number of people who enter your front end, will be at the back end. Since a small portion of people invest more, that's fine.

It is evident that, although front-end products and services can cost under $100, back-end products and services typically cost in the hundreds or thousands. This means that the bottom of the sales channel, also called the back-end is the primary source of income.

The sales funnel is as simple or complex as you want to make it, as long as you have the right resources and the right ideas.
