The lack of diversity in the classic sitcom in the 1990s has been called by friends several times now, but when Sherry Shepherd did that day, it might cost her a job. Shepherd's girlfriend Jawn Murray claims that the actress, who was in one episode of the hit show, was not invited because she spoke about the white cast.
“Sherry was one of the few black faces that were present in friends. Aisha Tyler and Gabriel Union told her,“ She told Murray Linsey Davis of ABC News during a recent interview. ”Sherry was on friends at a time when she sent postcards to inform people, Hello, I will be on TV. & # 39; "
According to Murray, Shepherd sent a postcard that included a photo of her, along with the caption "Friends get a little bit of color." Postcards went to people in Hollywood.
"Okay, [Shepherd] sent this postcard to [Friends Creator] Marta [Kauffman], got the postcard and [Shepherd] was never asked to return to the show," Murray continued.
