‘Designated Survivor’ is a political thriller and conspiracy drama series created by David Guggenheim, and the first season premiered on ABC on September 21, 2016. The series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on September 27, 2017. The third season was released exclusively on Netflix on June 7, 2019.

‘Designated Survivor’ deals with political turmoil in the United States. On the night of the State of the Union, an explosion took place, destroying the Capitol Building and killing the President and the rest of his successors.

This unfortunate event completely changed the life of Thomas Kirkman, who was secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Being the only survivor of that tragedy, his position was promoted, and he was handed over the responsibility of ruling the United States.

The sudden up-gradation in his position made him nervous, and he faced several difficulties trying to find out the real culprits behind the attack. Being an inexperienced leader, he was unable to predict the future problems that he would have to face.

The series ‘Designated Survivor’ was officially canceled by Netflix after the third season.  The third season ended, leaving several doubts in the minds of the audience, and they want their queries to be solved, but there’s no hope of another season to come up.
