Lord Of The Rings admired movies back then. Now the most loved film is getting adapted to a TV series, Yes, you heard that right. Amazon has decided to be the producer for the upcoming series. The film as well the series is based on the popular book by the English poet J. R. R. Tolkien. He has also written the classic book, The Hobbit. Directed by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, the show once released will be one of the most expensive TV Series ever. Many producers were into buying this popular adaptation like Netflix and HBO. But the deal finally closed with Amazon obtaining the rights by spending $250 million.

Release Date

Amazon has confirmed that the show will be released in the year 2021. As of now, the production is halted due to the ongoing COVID-19. Talking about the series, Amazon has ordered 20 episodes in the first season. In November 2019, Amazon had started the production for season two. Amazon is expected to spend at least a total of $1 billion on the making of the series, making it one the expensive TV shows. The first season is to believed to have a total of 20 episodes. It is also heard that the filming for the second season had been completed with two episodes. The continuation will take place only after the first two episodes are reviewed. So in short, we can expect the season one and two releases within short intervals between them.


Unfortunately, there is no trailer released as of now. 


It is confirmed that Maxim Baldry will be in one of the main roles. Morfydd Clark will be seen as young Elf Galadriel. The cast of the series is revealed but with their roles unknow. It includes Daniel Weyman, Megan Richards, Sophia Nomvete, Tyroe Muhafidin, Ema Horvath, Charlie Vickers, Joseph Mawle, Markella Kavenagh, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Tom Budge, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi and Robert Aramayo.
