‘Edge Of Tomorrow 2’: Release Date, Cast(Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt), Plot, Expectations, Future Of The Franchise, Latest Update And More..

Another popular Tom Cruise movie is the Edge of Tomorrow. The movie was released on May 28, 2014. Directed by Doug Liman, the movie is based on the Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill, written by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. The movie has won several awards and nominations, including the 42nd Annie Awards and 2015 Hugo Awards. This movie received positive reception for its acting, plot, and visuals. With a total of  $370.5 million worldwide, it was one of the popular movies in 2014. The movie was distributed by Warner Bros and had spent approximately $100 Million.

Release Date of Edge of Tomorrow 2

The plans for the upcoming sequel started in 2015. Hence, by 2016 it was official that we would have a sequel coming up. Doug Liman will be directing, along with the Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, as the scriptwriters. The movie is expected to be better than the first part. By 2018, the title for the sequel was revealed as Live Die Repeat and Repeat. By 2019, it was revealed that the script was ready for the sequel. Finally, in 2020, Doug Liman stated that the movie is still on planning stages. Hence, we can expect the movie to be released by the year 2021 and not before that.

The Cast

In the sequel, Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt will be again seen as Major William Cage and Sergeant Rita Vrataski. We also have Bill Paxton(Master Sergeant Farell), Brendan Gleeson (General Brigham), Noah Taylor (Dr. Carter), Jonas Armstrong(Skinner,) Tony Way (Kimmel), Kick Gurry (Griff), Charlotte Riley (Nance), Franz Drameh (Ford), Dragomir Music (Kuntz), Masayoshi Haneda (Takeda) and Madeleine Mantock(Julie).

The Plot

Although the idea of the sequel is not sure, Liman has given us a hint that the sequel is way better than the previous part. The story is expected to be better than the original and will be the complete opposite of what you expect from the sequel. We aren’t sure what the plot is going to be about.
