The cyberpunk movie Alita Battle Angel is one of the famous action films. The movie is based on the Battle Angel movie, which released in 1993. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, the movie received a huge fan base. The movie released on February 14, 2019, and was distributed by 20th Century Fox. The movie was spoken about around 2003 but delayed by the producer James Cameron, who was then working on Avatar. 

Around January 2019, 20th Century Fox was accused that the name “Battle Angel” was a trademark by the Epic Stone Group. Despite all this, the movie received positive reception and had won the Outstanding Animated Character in the Visual Effects Society Awards 2020. IMDB rated this movie with a 7.3 out of 10.

There isn’t any official news regarding the release of the sequel. However, the director Robert Rodriguez and producer James Cameron did give us hints that we would see many sequels in the future. They also mentioned that they do have plans for Alita: Battle Angel 2. But in April 2020, Christoph Waltz mentioned that he hadn’t heard anything about the sequel. The reason might be because the movie does not fit into the Disney branding.

There isn’t any information about the casting of part 2. However, in the first part, we see Rosa Salazar as a cyborg, Alita. Christoph Waltz as Alita’s father figure, Dr. Dyson. Jennifer Connelly as Dyson’s ex-wife. We also have Mahershala Ali(Vector), Ed Skrein (Zapan), Jackie Earle Haley(Grewishka), and Keean Johnson as Hugo.

The Plot 

The story revolves around a cyborg, Alita, who was rescued by Dr. Dyson and named her after his daughter. She suffers from Amnesia, due to which she forgets her past. The story then leads to her quest to find out her real life.
