Is ‘The Man Without Fear’ coming back or not?
Despite giving an improved second season, Iron Fist was still canceled by Marvel just after getting streamed on Netflix. Fans were really shocked when Marvel decided to shut down Luke Cage as well. Many believed that Daredevil Season 4 was still on the cards, especially after ending the third season with Pointdexter’s successful surgery. The show was on the verge of introducing Bullseye. But Marvel decided to end it and broke the hearts of many diehard fans!
With the introduction of Disney+, fans are still hoping Matt Murdock to don his red suit with the devil-horned helmet. But is it possible or not? Check out below to know everything about the future of this much-beloved superhero action drama.
Updates about season 4: Will Charlie Cox return?
We don’t think that we have to remind you how The Man Without Fear’s grand debut on the movie theatres got brutally butchered by the critics in 2003. Plus, fans were not quite sure about its rebooted return on the television as well. But it tossed our doubts into a trash can after delivering an extravagant and gritty first season on Netflix. The second and third installments proved to be worthy additions in Daredevil’s shiny cabinet.
The Daredevil himself, Charlie Cox, recently talked about his future in Marvel Cinematic Universe television series to ComicBook.com. Is he really returning? Well, we believe its best if you hear from his own mouth about his future appearances:
“I don’t feel that way, no. And, I don’t know why I don’t feel that way,” Cox tells us. “But, I haven’t been given any reason to believe that. And, from a cynical point of view, it just feels like maybe I’m trying to protect myself, ’cause I’d love nothing more than to do it again.”
The actor hinted that he is currently tangled with other projects, just like the other cast members. He recently performed in a Broadway show right alongside with The God of Mischief, Loki aka Tom Hiddleston.
He further added: “But when you make a television show, it’s so complicated, and people’s schedules are so difficult, and contracts are so difficult. So that’s why when, as an actor, when you sign onto a TV show, you sign six years of your life away. Because, if you don’t do that, it becomes too complicated to try and get all these moving pieces.”
Is Daredevil set to reboot with Disney+?
It seems like the fourth season will not return on Netflix. We know that Marvel has already broken its well-established bond with Netflix. The godfather of MCU himself, Kevin Feige, fired Jeph Loeb a long time ago. But we can’t just assume that the superhero will not return in the future.
Rumors regarding the rebooted Daredevil project are really hot these days. An insider from Marvel has indicated that Feige and the company are planning to make a rebooted version of Daredevil for Disney+ though it is still unclear whether Charlie Cox will return or not.
What can we expect from Daredevil in the future?
Netflix is out of the frame! Now the real question is, ‘How will Marvel bring back the superhero on television screens?’
There is no way in hell Marvel can allow the dark and gritty version of the character on Disney+. They may start right from scratch by replacing Cox with a new lead. A whole new cast can be seen in future entries. However, we are not quite sure about its rebooted return in the PG-13 format.
Additionally, Marvel has a daunting task of finding a replacement for Vincent D’Onofrio. The way he played the character of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, it will be almost impossible for Marvel to find his worthy successor.
Why was it canceled?
Showrunner Erik Olson revealed that the basic storyline for the fourth season was ready. They were planning to bring it back on Netflix. But it wasn’t enough to save this series from cancellation.
Believe it or not, but a shocking analysis from Jumpshot turned the whole game upside down. It informed me that the number of viewers decreased heavily for the third season in comparison to what we got in the second installment. We also have to keep in our minds that Daredevil was made with a giant budget of more than $200 million. And we believe that we don’t have to tell you the overall drama between Netflix and Marvel. So, it became really hard for Marvel to keep up with the fourth season.
What could have been the plot for season 4?
If Season 4 was not canceled, then we could have seen Pointdexter returning to our screens once again. Not in Daredevil’s suit, though, but in his own Bullseye costume! Whole new challenges for the trio of Murdock, Nelson, and Page were on the cards as well. Wilson Fisk was sure going to grace our screens for one more time. It could have properly introduced Daredevil’s protege, Blindspot, who appeared in the second season of Iron Fist.
What about the cast of Daredevil?
Charlie Cox had the honor of donning the red-horned suit of Daredevil. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson played the characters of Karen Page and Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, respectively. Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna-Fisk. The role of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, was landed on the shoulders of Vincent D’Onofario. Jon Bernthal and Rosario Dawson made notable appearances in their respective roles of Frank “The Punisher” Castle and Claire Temple. Wilson Bethel portrayed the psychotic role of Benjamin “Dex” Pointdexter. Élodie Yung appeared as Matt’s love interest, Elektra Natchios.
When will it come out?
No official confirmation regarding the rebooted Daredevil project has been given by Marvel. We know that our horned superhero is not coming back on Netflix. If the reboot happens, it is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2021 or 2022.
