It went on to become the most-watched show on Netflix in the United Kingdom. The makers had no problem to renew this series for the second season in November 2019. It is reported to have eight episodes in its cannon.
Black summer is created by the duo of Karl Schaefer and John Hyams. Yes, the same duo responsible for bringing Z Nation to our screens. Right from the very beginning, this show has always been considered as a spin-off series to Z Nation. But we are sorry to inform you that it is not true at all!

Black Summer Season 2 Plot: What can we expect?
The first season ended with Rose becoming a part of a surviving group of remaining humans. The group reaches the stadium to protect themselves. Zombies also follow them. Soon the stadium witnesses gunfires and bombings for killing those flesh-eating zombies. William gets a serious injury in his leg. He requests Rose to put a bullet in his head to relieve him. In the end, Rose reunites with her daughter.
Our protagonist, Rose, aka Jamie King, recently informed the fans about the return of season two. She also hinted that whatever the fans think will happen won’t occur. That means we have to be ready for some heart-pumping drama and unexpected twists. It is also expected to continue from where the first season ended. Black Summer Season 2 Cast: Who will be in it?
Jamie King is definitely returning to reprise the lead character of Rose. Other cast members including Justin Chu Cary (Spears), Christine Lee (Sun), Sal Valez Jr. (William Valez), Kelsey Flower (Lance), and many more.
But we can’t just ignore the possibility of William’s return to the second entry. Sal Valez Jr. himself hinted it in an interview. Fans also want him to come back in season two. Will he return or not? We will find out the answer in the upcoming season.
Black Summer Season 2 Release Date: When will it release?
The production work for the second season ignited in January 2020. But got halted due to the ongoing pandemic. Plus, Netflix has not yet announced any official release date. But we can expect it to come to our screens in late 2020 or early 2021.
