‘The Last of Us 2’: Get to know more about Joel and Ellie’s journey in the infected U.S. and the Release Date of the game.

The horrifying action-adventure game, The Last of Us, is soon to hit the gaming world with its gripping storyline. Set to release on the 12th of May, 2021, the game continues to attract the attention of more players to itself.

The story so far!!

Set in the United States in the year 2013, the game unfolds the story of an epidemic outbreak that ravages the states with a thunderous impact. The outbreak leads to transforming its human hosts into aggressive creatures known as the Infected.

The game begins in the suburbs of Austin, Texas, where Joel, his brother Tommy and daughter Sarah are trying to escape from the ongoing chaos outside. But unfortunately, Sarah is shot and breathes her last in the arms of her father.

The game takes a 20-year leap to a world where the majority turns infected, forcing the survivors to live in heavily policed quarantine zones. Here, we find Joel and his partner, Tess, working as smugglers towards the northern end of Boston, Massachusetts.

Next, the Fireflies enter the game, from where we are to a new character, Ellie, who later becomes a game-changer in the game. Soon, the gamer comes to know about Ellie being an ‘Infected. And more surprisingly, she doesn’t exhibit any symptoms like the other infected people. Her super immune system seems to become the epicenter of the events that unfold next in the game, making it a more compelling game.

What to expect in the next part?

Rumored to be set five years after the first part of the game, the second part continues its story with 19-year-old Ellie, who engages in a conflict with a mysterious Christian cult. The second part will also give more power and more artillery to the gamer, who will be playing the game in the third person.
