Marvel’s ‘Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage’: Release date, plot, cast- Tom Hardy, Woody Harrelson and more

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a highly anticipated Marvel superhero movie, which is set to hit the theatres soon. It is a sequel to Venom, based on Marvel Comics’ Venom. The 2018 Venom, directed by Ruben Fleischer, was loved by fans, but it did not gain positive reviews by critics.

After Venom appeared in Spiderman 3, a spin-off about the character Venom was worked on by Sony and was released in 2018, becoming the highest-grossing films of 2018.

As per the new director Andy Serkis, the movie will be “an extraordinary piece of cinema.” Although he has remained tight-lipped about what the movie will comprise, it is known that the movie will delve into the depths of Eddie and Venom’s relationship further and is expected to outdo the first movie many ways.

Andy Serkis said in 2019, “I can’t tell you any ideas right now. I’m in the beginning stages, but I have some very clear ideas about what I want to see visually, and how we can take the characters to another dimension.”

Tom Hardy will play the role of Venom, Woody Harrelson as a serial killer, Michelle Williams, as Anne Weying (Eddie’s ex-fiancee), Reid Scott as Dan Lewis (Anne’s current boyfriend), Naomie Harris as Shriek.

New cast members are Stephen Graham and Sean Delaney, whose roles have not yet been disclosed. We can only wait until more information is released about the plot and cast.

Although Venom 2 was supposed to hit the theatres worldwide in October 2020, the uncertainty caused by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic has stalled the release of the movie. It is now expected that Venom 2 will hit the screens in the United States on June 25, 2021. The worldwide release is expected to be declared in time.
