Homegoing fame, Yaa Ghasi, is a Ghanian-American novelist. She was born in Mampong, Ghana. Her father, Kwaku Gyasi, is a professor of French at the University of Alabama, and her mother, Sophie, is a nurse. In 1991, her family shifted to the United States. Her debut novel bagged her John Leonard Award and PEN/Hemmingway Award, “5 under 35” honors, and the American Book Award.
