All Adults Here by Emma Straub has been considered as one of the most anticipated reads of 2020 by The Today Show, Good Morning America, Vogue, Real Simple, Marie Claire, GoodReads, Buzzfeed, and many more. It is almost out now and here are the things you need to know about the much-awaited novel-

This New York Times Bestselling author has penned books various books such as All Adults Here, Modern Lovers, The Vacationers, and more. She has been published internationally and co-owns a bookstore with her husband in Brooklyn.

The book opens with 68-year-old Astrid, the protagonist, who witnesses a school bus accident and comes to the conclusion that life is short, and so she must tell her kids the secrets that they must rightfully know. How will her now grown-up kids react? What secrets of their own do they have?

The author has tried to address a wide array of social issues such as cyberbullying, prejudices against those who identify with the LGBTQ community, infidelity, and other forms of abuse. Thus, one is bound to find striking and thought-provoking words and phrases throughout this novel.

Although most readers found the first half of the book quite enjoyable, they were slightly disappointed with the lack of plot. Although the initial pages were gripping and threw light onto the character’s personalities, the same character development seems to have been hindered in the second half of the book.

Most people loved the writing style and the characters, but as they progressed, they seemingly lost interest. This can be attributed to the abundance of social issues addressed throughout the novel.

The official release is on March 4th, 2020
