One of the most critically acclaimed action games, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, was released in 2019 by FromSoftware. But it seems like FromSoftware isn’t done! Since the announcement of the Elden Ring in Microsoft E3 press conference last year, gamers can’t wait to get their hands on it.
FromSoftware is set to fire Elden Ring from its cannon in 2020. This much-awaited game is being directed by the creator of Souls series, Hidetaka Miyazaki. The chief architect of Westeros, George R.R. Martin, will help him in writing the game’s narrative. Sounds interesting, isn’t it? We can definitely say that the collaboration of these grim minds is sure to thrill the gaming junkies from all around the world!
Elden Ring’s Gameplay
One of the biggest questions which arise here is, “Will Elden Ring be similar to Dark Souls?” And the answer to that question is yes! Miyazaki confirmed in an interview that the game would be heavily based on the Dark Souls universe. The focus has been shifted towards RPG elements. Plus, he also revealed that the players would be able to explore the open-world format of this game.
The announcement trailer of Elden Ring at the E3 expo last year definitely hinted towards Norse mythology. Character customization will be back for this game. Players will also come across some new exciting weapons and magical powers.
Leaked Details About Elden Ring
One of the most prominent leaders in the gaming universe, 4Chan, has leaked some massive spoilers regarding the Elden Ring’s gameplay. So, we advise you to take a long deep breath before diving into the Sea of Spoilers.
The leak claims that eight kingdoms will be featured in Elden Ring. Each kingdom will have its own mega boss. “Limbs” will take over as the new currency in this game by replacing souls. “The Field” is reported to be a large hub area filled with mini-bosses. PvP will feature a ranking system. They will be available only in kingdoms but not in The Field. This upcoming entry will definitely be bigger than Dark Souls and Bloodborne.
Release Date and Platforms
According to FromSoftware’s own website, Elden Ring is planned to release in June 2020. But we don’t have a release date yet. It will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates.
