‘The Grand Tour Season 5’ Returns On Amazon Prime Video! Possibilities, Cast (Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, etc), New Locations and Everything You Should Know!

One of the most popular British motoring TV shows, The Grand Tour, is set to return with its fifth season on Amazon Prime Video. Created by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May, and Andy Wilman, this series first premiered on November 18, 2016. This show was originally scheduled for three seasons, but thanks to its worldwide popularity, Amazon decided to stick with it!

The Grand Tour Season 5: What Can We Expect?

The Grand Tour had a similar format to that of Top Gear for its first three seasons. But we witnessed some huge changes in season 4, including the introduction of a live audience instead of setting up their normal tent studio. So, we can definitely see some huge changes in this upcoming season too.  We don’t have any official confirmation regarding the locations of season 5. But fans are really concerned about James May. He recently told The Sun about his future involvement in this show.

“How do I feel about aging? Bad,” he said. “I’m in the second half of my fifties now, and in all honesty, I’m slightly falling apart.

“I’m developing nervous disorders and aches, and I don’t think I’ll do this much longer because I don’t want to fall apart in public.”

Yes, it will be disheartening to see May leaving The Grand Tour. He has established himself as an integral part of the show. But we think it’s for the best considering his health status.

Cast For Season 5

Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond both are definitely returning for the fifth season of The Grand Tour. We can also see some other celebrities like Mike Skinner, Simon Pegg, and Abbie Eaton. But we are not sure about the return of James May in this upcoming season due to his health condition.

Release Date

No official release date has been confirmed by the makers. They hinted that season 5 would air somewhere around 2020 via social media. We don’t know the exact date yet. But it is expected to get delayed due to the ongoing pandemic.

Possibility For Season 6?

In July 2019, executive producer Andy Wilman confirmed that the production crew had extended their contracts with Amazon for two additional years. Plus, Jeremy Clarkson also told in an interview with Radio Times, “I never run out of ideas.”

He further added, “Someone asked me before this series, ‘What can you possibly do with a car that you haven’t already done?’ But my head’s filled with enough ideas for five years.”

So we can say for sure that the production of season 6 is definitely on the cards! Stay tuned for more updates.
