Altered Carbon is a sci-fi futuristic web series created by Laeta Kalogridis and based on the book with the same name written by Richard K. Morgan. The series has released two seasons as of now, and the first season premiered on February 2, 2018, with ten episodes. The season two aired on February 27, 2020, with eight episodes. The series also has an anime adaption released on March 19, 2020.
The series holds the record for Netflix’s most expensive production to date.
IMDB has rated the show with an 8.1 out of 10. Rotten Tomatoes found it fresh, with a rating of 76%.

The cast of Season 2
The cast includes Joel Kinnaman as Takeshi, James Purefoy as Laurens, Chris Conner as Edgar Poe, Kristin Lehman as Miriam Bancroft, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Quellcrist “Quell”. Lela Loren as Danica Harlan, Simone Missick as Trepp, Dina Shihabi as Dig 301 and Torben Liebrecht as Jaeger.
In season 1, Takeshi Kovacs wakes a former soldier, wakes up in a different boy after 250 years to solve a murder. In the futuristic world, “sleeve” refers to the body, and various bodies can be downloaded to resemble them. Takeshi’s current sleeve was of Ortega’s former lover.
Season 1 revolves around Takeshi and how he remembers his past. His past includes his lover Quell, who is now the creator of stacks. At the end of season 1, Ortega and Takeshi go in search of Quell.
Season 2, the story sets start after thirty years. In this season, it continues from Season 1. Here Kovac enters with a new sleeve given by Avenger alumni. After this, he sets start to find his sister, and Quell.
In season 1, Takeshi Kovacs is an Asian American Man. The viewers were against the protagonist and accused the creators of “whitewashing” a character. Upon receiving criticism, the role of Anthony Mackie was taken up.
