The series revolves around a group of post-apocalyptic survivors. They are one of the first people from a space habitat named ‘The Ark.’ They are to return to the Earth after a nuclear attack 97 years earlier. There are 100 survivors that are sent back to the Earth under the leadership of Bellamy and Clarke. The 100 survivors try to survive the harsh surface conditions and try to make a connection to The Ark that they lost somehow. 

The show has been renewed for the seventh season, and it was announced that season 7 would be released on 20th May 2020, but due to the recent pandemic outbreak of COVID-19, the season has been delayed indefinitely. It has been told that the cast for the 7th season will be the same. Executive producer Jason Rothenberg confirmed that season seven would focus on The Anomaly.
