Apple has already released a new iPhone SE, and another product is on its way to be released. The next expected iPhone that is to be released is the iPhone 12 and reportedly said to be Apple’s first product to support 5G networking. Apple is also set to release four different variants of the iPhone 12.
Apple is to introduce four different models in its upcoming iPhone 12 lineup. We can expect two iPhone 12 devices with 5.4 and 6.1-inch displays and two iPhone 12 Pro models at 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.
According to Apple Analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo’s major chassis redesign will take place in this series. The pro-iPhone 12 models will have flat, stainless steel with more sharply rounded corners embracing the iPad Pro and iPhone 5 models. Reports also suggest that iPhone 12 is going to be 7.44m thick, whereas the iPhone 11 Pro Max was 8.1mm.
Although Apple is trying to get rid of the notch entirely, it will be reducing the size of Face ID notch. Thus all the four models are likely to have a slimmer notch.
A new rumor that has been going around is Apple is going to increase its refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz. This feature isn’t unique in their products, as it was already introduced in the iPad Pro in 2017. The iPhone 12 varients might exhibit OLED display technology this year.
The 5.4 inches and 6.1 inches iPhone 12 will have dual-lens camera systems. Whereas, the other two high-end iPhone models will feature a three-lens camera system and time-of-flight 3D sensor. Apple is also trying to accommodate the LiDAR sensor in the high-end models, which was last featured in iPad Pro. We are also expecting apple’s new version to have better image processing features.
What is new?
We are looking forward to the A14 processor in the lineup hence leading to a faster and more power-efficient iPhone. The larger two iPhone is said to have 6GB of RAM and the smaller two with 4GB of RAM. The most distinctive characteristic we are waiting in the upcoming versions of the iPhone 12 is the 5G connectivity and is likely to feature modems from Qualcomm.
Reports and sources also claim that the 2020 models are going to feature USB-C port, which may help the phone charge way faster. Although we feel that USB-C port might not be something we will see so soon.
The prices of the 2020 models are estimated to be around $699- $1099 by comparing the previous versions.
Although Apple’s new release is supposed to take place somewhere around September 2020, the dates are pushed ahead due to the ongoing pandemic.
