The buzz about the release of The Doors of Stone has excited the bibliophiles from all around the world. It will conclude the much-beloved book series, The Kingkiller Chronicle. The trilogy’s resemblance to George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire is one of the main reasons why this book series is so popular.
The first two entries, The Name of the Wind and The Wise Man’s Fear, were published in 2007 and 2011, respectively. More than 10 million copies of this book series have been sold worldwide.
The Name of the Wind was Patrick Rothfuss’ debut novel. He bagged the 2007 Quill Award for it. His second novel, The Wise Man’s Fear, topped ‘The New York Times Best Seller’ list. The Doors of Stone was rumored to release in 2019. But it was just a rumor! Rothfuss has confirmed that he is still working on the third novel.
The story starts with our protagonist named Kvothe. He is an innkeeper of the Waystone Inn. Bast is his assistant. He is a well-renowned sword fighter, magician, and musician. Famously known as Kingkiller, he is living under the identity of Kote in order to keep a low profile. He saves a scribe named Chronicler (Devan Lochees) from Scraels. Chronicler recognizes him and asks him to tell his story. Kvothe informs him that he will take three days to complete the story.
What Can We Expect From The Final Novel?
The Doors of Stone will cover the final day of Kvothe’s tale. It will conclude Kvothe’s overall story and end the arc, which began in The Name of the Wind. It is expected to tell us about the new traveling adventures of Kvothe.
The final novel is expected to release in August 2019. But Rothfuss is also busy with his work on the Rick and Morty series. So, we can’t say for sure about when it is going to release. Stay tuned for more updates!
