The series was created by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat based on a novel of the same name by Bram Stoker. There’s little probability of the 2nd season to hit the screen before 2022 as the 1st season was aired on Netflix two years after the official declaration of its production.
The cast expected to be seen in the 2nd season includes Claes Bang as Count Dracula, Dolly Wells as sister Agatha Van Helsing/ Dr. Zoe Van Helsing, John Heffernan as Jonathan Harker, Morfydd Clark as Mina Murray, Joanna Scanlan as Mother Superior, Lujza Richter as Elena, Jonathan Aris as Captain Sokolov, Sacha Dhawan as Dr. Sharma.
The plot of the 1st season involves the dreadful wrongdoings of Lord Count Dracula, his merciless killing of innocent people, and his unjustified act of spreading the curse of the undead. The ending of the last season shows the dual deaths of Zoe and Dracula. Dracula, having drunk the blood of Agatha (a nun), had acquired her traits and showed mercy upon Zoe by freeing her from her suffering. He drank the toxic blood of Zoe suffering from terminal cancer, and in this way, he too died. He came to understand that he’s an aversion from the mirror, sunlight, crosses justify his character. He was too ugly having bestial traits to come in the open under sunlight or to see himself in the mirror. Moreover, he was the total opposite of Jesus Christ and hence hated cross. His final confrontation with Zoe changed his thoughts, and he considered killing himself to be easier than redeeming with the truth.
But the kingpin Dracula can’t die soon, and his crazy fans are waiting for his comeback in the 2nd season. Let’s see what happens. Stay tuned for more updates.
