Grace and Frankie is an American comedy series created by Marta Kauffman and Howard J.Morris. The show streams on Netflix for the audience to experience. It premiered on Netflix on May 8, 2015, with all the 13 episodes of the first season releasing on the same day. The second season also consisting of 13 episodes was released on May 6, 2016.  Then the second season was followed by the third season which was released on March 24, 2017. Then the fourth season, fifth season and the sixth season each consisting of 13 episodes each released on January 19, 2018, and  January 18, 2019, and then on January 15, 2020.

The series received mixed reviews after its first season but then after the second season and the following seasons after that, it kind of received a huge positive response from both audience and television critics. It has received several awards and nominations for the comedy series it has become. It has received nominations for five times Primetime Emmy awards.

On September 4, 201,9 the series got renewed for its seventh season. According to the direction and production team, this will be the final season of the series and will consist of 16 episodes. After the seventh season, it will become Netflix’s longest-running original series with a total number of 94 episodes.

The series plays the story of Grace ( who is a retired cosmetic mogul) and the story of Frankie ( who is a hippie art teacher). Their husbands named Robert and Sol, are shown as successful divorce lawyers. Later on in the series, Robert and Sol discover that they are in love with each other, which means they are gay and confesses the same to their respective wives and ask them to stay together.

Grace and Frankie who are two unlikely friends are kind of forced to stay with each other and unite and face all the difficulties that life has to offer them.

The cast that plays the lead role are – Jane Fonda (as Grace Skolka), Lily Tomlin ( Frances Bergstein- “Frankie”), Sam Waterston ( Sol Bergstein), Martin Sheen ( as Robert Hanson), etc.
