Laeta Kalogridis or Netflix did not have any plans to pick up Altered Carbon for another season, but due to the success of the first season, the show was renewed for a second time. Some major changes were seen in the second season. The showrunner and executive producer for the second season were Alison Schapker who took over from Kalogridis. In the second season, Anthony Mackie joined the show as Takeshi Tak Kovacs.

Altered Carbon 2: Release Date and Trailer
Altered Carbon was renewed for a second season on July 27, 2018. It is almost after more than one year that the series recently released on February 27, 2020. The second season of the series contains eight episodes. The title of the episodes is 201-Phantom Lady,202- Payment Deferred, 203-Nightmare Alley, 204-Shadow of a Doubt,205- I wake up screaming, 206-Bury me dead, 207-Experiment Perilous and 208-Broken Angels.
An official trailer for the series was also released before airing in which it is seen that Kovacs is searching for a new Meth client and Quell ready to fight the ghosts of his past.

Cast and Plotline of Altered Carbon Season 2
The cast of the show includes Anthony Mackie, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Chis Conner, Simone Missick, Dina Shihabi, Torben Liebrecht and James Saito.
In the new season, Takeshi Kovacs continues to search for his lost lover, Ouellcrist Falconer by solving the centuries-old quest. He is also taken to his home planet after decades with the promise to search his lost lover.
