The end for our favorite Better Call Saul is exceptionally near. The transformation of Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman has an end date. AMC managed to renew Better Call Saul for a sixth season. But sadly, it will also be the last season of the series. Season 6 will consist of 13 episodes as confirmed by AMC.
Fans are not too mad about it though. The show managed to have a long and overall good run. It was speculated from the last few seasons that maybe we are nearing an end. The show went through some major evolution, which is good. It started out and was marketed as a comedy show but over the seasons became more of a drama-cum-comedy show. But as the writers delved deeper into the life of Jimmy—the well-meaning screw-up —they felt there was more story to tell there.
Better Call Saul Season 6 Release date
A release date has yet to be finalized but it seems like Better Call Saul will release in 2021.
“Greenlighting a prequel to one of the most iconic series in television history is one of the boldest swings that AMC has ever taken. But, thanks to the creative genius of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, it has also been one of the most rewarding,” said Sarah Barnett, president of AMC. “It has been an absolute joy to collaborate with the extraordinarily talented team on Better Call Saul. We congratulate Vince, Peter, our producers, writers, and cast on a remarkable run and look forward to sharing this final chapter with fans.”
Saul is the prequel of Breaking Bad and stars Bob Odenkirk as Jimmy McGill. It takes place before he became Walter White’s shady lawyer Saul Goodman. The cast also consists of Breaking Bad alums including Jonathan Banks, as fixer Mike Ehrmantraut, and Giancarlo Esposito, as crime boss Gus Fring.
