Netflix has put brakes on Mindhunter: ‘Mindhunter season 3’ release date, cast, plot, future and other details.

It is an American crime thriller series based on true crime book Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The series is executive produced by Penhall, David Fincher, and Charlize Theron among others, and debuted worldwide on Netflix on October 13, 2017.

Mindhunter is basically a story of Holden Ford and Bill Tench along with psychologist Wendy Carr they together run the behavioral unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the training division. They questioned imprisoned serial killers to understand how they think, with the hope of applying this knowledge to solve ongoing cases.

The first season was basically a  stepping platform for the criminal psychology to be launched in the FBI  with Edmund Kemper being the recurring antagonist of the series in this they try to understand the find of a serial killer.

The second season covers the Atlanta murders of 1979–81 based on the killing by Wayne William who was charged for the murder of two adult men but was never found guilty of killing at least 28 children and/or adolescents. It was also based on the trio trying to learn his metal processing and way of thinking to solve the crimes.

Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, Stacey Roca, Joe Tuttle were all present in the last season of the series and most probably will be available in the series is renewed for the future though nothing has been confirmed yet.

Netflix on January 2020 has released a statement saying that the series has been put on indefinite hold which means we will not be able to see our favorite crime-solving trio for a long time but the good part is that the show hasn’t been totally canceled yet which means there is a chance of it to return if not now then later.
