Dr. Stone is a Japanese manga series written by Richiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. It was first broadcasted on March 6, 2017, published by Shueisha into thirteen volumes by the end of November 2019.

An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment which got aired from July 2019 to December 2019. The 2nd season of the anime series focused on the “Stone Wars” arc of the manga series. The release of the second season was announced at the end or in the 24th episode of the first season.

The first season starts showing the teenage genius named Senku Ishigami finds himself in a world where all traces of human civilization was said to be eroded by time. The first scene starts showing how a bright flash of light kind of stunned the human population and caused certain damage. Senku is seen reviving his friend Taiju Oki, his classmate Yuzuriha Ogawa to rebuild their civilization. Later on, he is seen saving a martial artist Tsukasa Shislo who then opposes Senku and his intentions saying he wants to build a new world free from the old generation’s corruption. All of this led to a rise of the Stone War between Senku’s kingdom of Science & the Empire of Might Tsukasa ( whom Senku had revived). At the and it is shown that Senku’s group win and they are again faced by a tribe of enemy called the Petrification Kingdom.

In November 2019 Crunchyroll listed Dr.Stone in their list of “Top 25 best anime of 2010’s”. Not only that it was the 8th most-watched anime series in on Netflix.

Although a particular date is not yet fixed Dr.Stone is most probably expected to be released during July 2020. The latest trailer that got released for the series debuted at the jump fest event where Senku, Chrome, and Gen were shown joining fists and preparing for the upcoming Stone Wars Arc. Season 2 will be a continuous spiral and would run for 3 months and therefore would give us about 10 to 14 episodes.
