The eight-episode, head-turner series Taboo was first released on January 7 2017, in the British media and then on 10th January in the states. Created by Tom Hardy and Steven Knight, the series revolves around a James Keziah Delaney who returns to London during 1812 to rebuild his late father’s shipping empire. However, the government and his competitor are just about ready to do anything to steal his inheritance.
With an 8.5 rating on IMDb, the show was a thrilling watch, and in March 2017, a few days after the premiere of the last episode, the show was renewed for a second season.
When do we get to watch the new season?
Steven Knight in mid-2017 said that “he was writing as fast as he can” and that we should expect the release sometime in 2018. Much to our dismay, 2018 passed without incident in this regard. In early 2019, Knight revealed that he was almost done with writing the script. To our further dismay, that means we should expect it to come out around mid-2020.
Who all are coming back?
So far the only confirmed cast is Tom Hardy ( of course since he co-created this amazing show, to begin with).
With the busy schedules of both Knight and Hardy, the delay is understandable.
Any hints about the plot?
The first season ended with James ( along with his not-so-merry friends) sailing across the ocean, to the land of dreams, America.
Knight said, “In my mind, explosive stuff is going to happen, which will be great”
Although he gave no specific hints about the location.
James is likely to explore his mother’s Native American heritage. We will probably find out more about his tattoos and their significance.
Hardy has also given hints, suggesting Taboo season 2 will revolve around the US spy network ‘Colonnade’.
Is there a trailer yet?
Sadly, no trailer has been released yet, but we can expect one this year so
